摘要: The quantity and distribution of epidermal growth factor receptors (EGF-R) in oesophageal mucosa was studied the oesophagus order to determine its role disease. Fifty five biopsies were taken from different levels 25 consecutive patients undergoing endoscopy. Another group eight with histologically proven Barrett's oesophagitis had a biopsy area columnar lined oesophagus. A peripheral, membranous pattern seen predominantly confined basal immediately suprabasal cells all first patients. In superficial few granular cytoplasmic structures positive. All showed EGF-R staining surface epithelium. computerised planimeter used proportion stained areas squamous which expressed as percentage total cells. difference for between normal inflamed (29.5% 43.1% respectively) significant (p less than 0.001).
