摘要: Abstract The Stark widths of seven Ar I transitions are reported. Axial line shape data from an atmospheric d.c. argon plasma jet were Abel-inverted to obtain radial shapes. electron density was determined Stark-width measurements the hydrogen H β transition. In electron-density region ⩽6 × 10 22 m -3 , experimental fitted a linear dependence on density. Values extrapolated other densities compared with reported in literature 4 s -4 p array. Experimental values up 45% smaller than those predicted by Griem's theory broadening. We report electron-impact parameter W . Uncertainties our results ⩽ 10%.
