摘要: n-Glutamic acid was consistently superior to a-ketoglutaratc in supporting the growth of Lactobacillus arabinosus 17-5 when these substances replaced L-glutamic medium (1). The results suggested that conversion n-glutamic by this organism does not proceed chiefly through a-ketoglutaric acid. present study demonstrates presence an enzymatic system L. which catalyzes racemization glutamic Additional observations were also made are relevant stimulation utilization n-glut.amic glutamine previously reported EXPERIMENTAL
