摘要: The genetic diversity within Ptyodactylus ragazzii was analysed for the first time across Western part of its range. We have used two mitochondrial (12s rRNA and 16s rRNA) one nuclear (Cmos) marker to compare results directly with other related species, P. oudrii hasselquistii. Results show high levels intraspecific variability, at least three divergent mtDNA lineages that different haplotypes Cmos are geographically concordant. from Mauritania is probably a distinct species possibly too, such as those Air Mountains in Niger, although more markers needed confirm this. All appear be cryptic complexes containing multiple deeply forms, highlighting need careful reassessment taxonomy whole genus.
