摘要: Several reports have indicated that indomethacin-induced gastropathy is mediated through generation of free radicals, neutrophil infiltration and disturbance in nitric oxide production. Rutin a potent antioxidant flavonoid. Recently, rutin was reported to inhibit modulate production gastric mucosa. Therefore, the aim this study investigate protective effect against injury. Accordingly, four groups rats were used. The first three injected orally with vehicle, (200 mg/kg) indomethacin (48 respectively. fourth group 1 hr before indomethacin. Animals killed after 6 administration. Gastric juice acidity injury evaluated directly. Moreover, activities myeloperoxidase, superoxide dismutase contents reduced glutathione, thiobarbituric acid reactive substance total nitrite/nitrate (as marker production) determined mucosal tissues. Indomethacin increased ulcer index, myeloperoxidase activity, compared control. On other hand, decreased activity. Histopathological examination stomachs indomethacin-treated revealed degenerative changes Pre-treatment protected tissues as demonstrated from reduction attenuation histopathological amelioration altered oxidative stress biochemical parameters. These results indicate has probably inhibiting infiltration, suppression replenishing levels regardless acidity.
