摘要: Human-carnivore conflicts challenge biodiversity conservation and local livelihoods, but the role of diseases domestic animals in their predation by carnivores is poorly understood. We conducted a human-leopard (Panthera pardus) conflict study throughout all 34 villages around Golestan National Park, Iran order to find most important determinants use them predicting probabilities killing cattle, sheep goats, dogs. found that more villagers were dissatisfied with veterinary services, likely they lose livestock dogs leopard predation. Dissatisfaction occurred when vaccination crews failed visit at or, cases, arrived too late prevent from spreading. suggest increased morbidity makes particularly vulnerable attacks. Moreover, dog higher located closer boundaries protected area than distant villages. Therefore, we appeal for improved enforcement coordination services our area, propose several priority research topics such as veterinarian studies, wild prey animals, further analysis potential predictors.
