摘要: Microglia are the resident immune cells of central nervous system (CNS) and share many immunological characteristics with peripheral macrophage. exist in a quiescent state healthy CNS, however, upon injury or infection, microglia become activated cells. have been implicated playing an important role several neurological diseases that affect spinal cord, especially multiple sclerosis (MS) neuropathic pain. However, most studies, which examined response by conducted using cultures generated from brain microglia. Therefore, our studies cord compared to brain. mice expressed higher levels surface molecules than brain, virus These suggest may different reactivity contribute diseases.
