摘要: Objective We aimed to characterize the effect of vaginal or abdominal mesh insertion and different collagen augmentation polypropylene in a sheep model. Outcome measures were passive active biomechanical properties semiquantitative morphometry. Study Design Forty-two Texel used: 6 nonimplanted controls (n = 6), rest implanted with 12; Avaulta Solo; Bard Medical, Covington, GA) collagen-coated meshes: Plus Medical) Ugytex Sofradim International, Trevoux, France). Through single incision, rectovaginal septum was dissected 35 × 35–mm sutured underlying tissues. Abdominally, 50 × 50–mm laid over primarily full thickness 40-mm longitudinal incisional defect. Animals explanted after 60 180 days per group). biomechanics by biaxial tensiometry, contractility explants, histologic evidence. Results Vaginal explants 2.4 times stiffer compared native tissue ( P = .032) .015). Abdominal 1.3-times wall Conclusion implantation yields less stiff explants. also alters Collagen matrices did not reduce number graft-related complications.
