摘要: Three 24-hour multiple-ship surveys, each ship lowering a bathythermograph at 15-minute intervals, revealed the presence of internal waves off southern California. The had form vertical fluctuations temperature up to 90 feet over wide range frequencies dominated by an approximate semidiurnal period. They appeared be roughly parallel top continental slope and move shoreward speed about 7 knots in deep water less than 1 knot shallow shelf. There may evidence surf as approach coast.
