摘要: In this study, a defensin gene (Clit-Def) has been characterised in the tiger beetle Calomera littoralis for first time. Bioinformatic analysis showed that an open reading frame of 246bp contains 46 amino acid mature peptide. The phylogenetic high variability coleopteran defensins analysed. Clit-Def peptide features to be involved antimicrobial function: predicted cationic isoelectric point 8.94, six cysteine residues form three disulfide bonds, and typical cysteine-stabilized α-helix β-sheet (CSαβ) structural fold. Real time quantitative PCR was upregulated different body parts analysed after infection with lipopolysaccharides Escherichia coli, also indicated expression peak at 12h post infection. patterns suggest plays important roles humoral system adephagan littoralis.
