摘要: The water quality status of rivers, streams, and underground in Uruan Local Government Area, Nigeria was investigated this study. Inhabitants region depend on these resources for drinking other purposes. Water samples were collected from four nine six boreholes a well various points across three study zones the local government. Standard analytical methods employed all analyses results are compared with standards World Health Organisation (WHO) Nigerian Drinking Quality (NSDWQ). Most determinands within WHO guidelines except pH, EC, turbidity, TDS, total coliform, Fe. overall ionic dominance pattern river, stream, borehole follow same trend Fe>Na>Mn>K Cl - >NO 3 2 . hygienic condition bodies is found to be poor. High BOD 5 , coliform count :NO ratio stream ground indicative organic pollution due faecal contamination. Multivariate statistical approach [correlation, principal component analysis (PCA), cluster (CA)] used identify interrelationships among physicochemical parameters source. PCA reveals extracted components (PCs) by river water, 6 PCs each both water; sources either natural hydro-geochemical processes or anthropogenic pollution, combination both. Based results, sample stations classified into clusters, pointer fact that clusters peculiar different one another. imply polluted pose potential risk humans. Institution intervention measures including public awareness campaigns government area desirable protect inhabitants water-related illnesses their consequences.
