摘要: Background. Kangquan Recipe (KQR) is a traditional Chinese medicine compound made by our research group for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Whether KQR can treat BPH as single drug or play role in combination therapy needs further study. Aim Study. To investigate effect on expression TGF-β/Smad signaling pathway-related factors rats with BPH. In-depth analysis revealed relevant signal transduction mechanism which acts to Materials and Methods. Forty-eight male Sprague-Dawley were randomly divided into six groups 8 each. In addition control group, 40 castrated then injected testosterone propionate form model. After 30 days, three received different concentrations (14 g/kg, 7 g/kg, 3.5 g/kg), finasteride 0.5 mg/kg finasteride. The same volume saline. All treated total days. Rat body weight, prostate volume, wet index, histology, mRNA protein levels TGF-β, TGF-βR1, TGF-βR2, p-Smad2, p-Smad3, BAMBI, E-cadherin, N-cadherin tissue measured after end treatment. Results. Compared had increased histology showed significant all varying reduction index degrees improvement histological manifestations downregulates and/or increases BAMBI E-cadherin protein. Conclusions. model induced castration, inhibit conduction pathway upregulating reversing EMT rat tissue.
