摘要: In this study, we report on techniques and analyses that enable us to capture Internet-wide activity at individual IP address-level granularity by relying server logs of a large commercial content delivery network (CDN) serves close 3 trillion HTTP requests daily basis. Across the whole 2015, these recorded client involving 1.2 billion unique IPv4 addresses, highest ever measured, in agreement with recent estimates. Monthly address counts showed constant growth for years prior, but since 2014, count has stagnated while IPv6 have grown. Thus, it seems entered an era marked increased complexity, one which sole enumeration active addresses is little use characterize Internet as whole. With observation mind, consider new points view study global activity. Our analysis shows significant churn addresses: set varies much 25% over course year. Second, looking across prefix, are able identify attribute patterns restructurings, user behaviors, and, particular, various assignment practices. Third, combining spatio-temporal measures utilization traffic volume, sampling-based estimates relative host counts, present novel perspectives worldwide activity, including empirical under-utilization some areas, complete utilization, or exhaustion, others.
