摘要: ‘Accelerated energy innovation’ has become a prominent aspect of policymaking in response to more urgent drivers for change. This paper charts the rise accelerated innovation UK, and considers its possible implications sustainable studies research-policy exchange. As manifest number distinctive features: an emphasis on relatively short term dynamics (years rather than decades), focus cost reduction deployment support large scale technologies, central role private sector public-private partnerships. We argue that because it is predominantly regime-led continuity-based, presents challenge niche-led, disruptive theories (Transitions Studies Technological Innovation Systems th eory). conclude – while maintaining critical refl exive stance should fully ect multiform systems under urgency, across broad spectrum continuity-based niche-led changes.
