摘要: The problem of quantum-confined heterostructures with elliptic shape is studied cylinder coordinates and a basis symmetry-adapted Mathieu functions. conventional effective mass Hamiltonian written in two-dimensional three-dimensional geometries. not separable radial-like angular-like coordinates. A variational method using functions proposed. Energy splitting, optical intersubband interband transition spectra, polarization effects are analysed. calculation for self-organized InAs InAs/InAlAs quantum dots on InP performed. Various island shapes morphologies observed such dots, which may be important potential applications fibre optic telecommunication systems.
