摘要: Mental disorders were often reported following hazardous substance exposure. The present study analyses this association in relation to a work-related exposure PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls). Specifically, the aim was investigate (a) relationship of inner PCB burden and severity mental symptoms (b) prevalence incidence syndromes. This initiated as part occupational medical surveillance program HELPcB (Health Effects high level PCB). A total 136 individuals included analysis. plasma collected via biomonitoring psychological syndromes (i.e., somatoform, depressive, anxiety, panic) with standardized screening instrument. analyzed linear regression. Prevalence rates, respective odds ratios (OR) rates calculated logistic regressions. We thereby compared higher-PCB burdened those showing levels comparable general population. found especially significant between depressivity. Within higher-PCB-exposed group descriptively higher than for normal-exposed participants, except anxiety syndrome. Similarly, exposed had risk developing depressive always higher-exposed group. To summarize, supports illness.
