摘要: The relationship between polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) burden and several indicators of immune function was investigated as part the HELPcB (Health Effects in High-Level Exposure to PCB) program, offering bio-monitoring workers, relatives, neighbors exposed PCBs by a German transformers capacitors recycling company. present retrospective observational study evaluates correlation plasma levels total PCBs, five indicator congeners (28, 101, 138, 153, 180), seven dioxin-like (105, 114, 118, 156, 157, 167, 189) with parameters function. cross-sectional performed immediately after end exposure (258 subjects), one (218 two (177 subjects) years later. At first time point, measurements showed significant positive low medium chlorination relative proportion CD19 B-cells among lymphocytes, well negative PCB114 serum IgM, PCB 28 suppressor T-cell NK-cell numbers. Congeners high degree chlorination, particular PCB157 189, were positively associated expression activation marker CD25 on T-cells cohort second point. No associations IFN-y production killing NK-cells found. In conclusion, there effects cellular composition adaptive immunity, affecting both T- B-cells. However, values not generally outside reference ranges for healthy adult individuals did indicate overt functional immunodeficiency, even subjects uppermost burden.
