摘要: Oxidation of purified heparin with periodate destroyed about 30% the total uronic acid and almost all glucuronic residues, suggesting that was essentially nonsulfated. Heparin degraded nitrous at low temperature, resulting products were separated by gel chromatography followed paper electrophoresis. Four fractions isolated identified as nonsulfated monosaccharide (B), monosulfated uronosylanhydromannose disaccharide (C), disulfated (D), sulfated (E), respectively. Fractions B C contained both iduronic acid, whereas constituted present in D E. The results obtained do not support a recent claim treatment causes conversion residues to via epimerization C-5. It is concluded major heparin.
