摘要: BACKGROUND Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is suggested to be associated with increased risk of atherosclerosis. Epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) thickness used in prediction atherosclerotic risk. The aim our study was evaluate EAT FMF patients for early detection atherosclerosis and compared its level healthy controls. METHODS Thirty 6- 18-year-old children 30 age- sex-matched (control group) were included the study. Disease characteristics, disease severity gene mutations recorded. thicknesses measured by echocardiography. RESULTS patients' group significantly greater than that controls (5.21 ± 2.3 vs. 2.81 ± 2.96 mm, p = 0.001) correlated cholesterol platelets count (p = 0.047 0.018, respectively). CONCLUSION This concluded statistically a positive correlation platelet count. finding suggests higher these patients. Follow-up needed verify effect treatment on thickness. Further studies larger number following-up are this finding.
