摘要: Abstract Sixteen pregnant collared peccaries were assigned to four experimental diets representing two levels of crude protein and digestible energy. Serum progesterone, estradiol-17β(E 2 ), glucocorticoids measured by radioimmunoassay. There was no significant dietary effect ( P > 0.05) associated with any hormone during gestation. Progesterone did not differ between days 11 140 gestation X ± SE = 36.48 1.11 ng / ml , N 72, began decline the last week prepartum, continued within 24 hr birth. Glucocorticoid concentrations remained level throughout 6.57 0.45 μ g dl 74 ). E low first 90 gestation, rose significantly 10.11 1.73 pg 8) at Days 81–90 49.07 12.87 pg/ml 3) 2–4 prepartum (Days 141–147 declined rapidly baseline farrowing. Litter size had on progesterone or concentrations. litter length. During lactation, stable diet, while appeard be affected diet. Individuals high energy-high diet returned normal ovarian function before animals other three diets. Results indicated that peccary can maintain a reproductive environment allows for fetal development in face moderate caloric restriction lactating undergo postpartum ovulation presence good nutrition.
