摘要: This review deals with the processing and properties of novel lightweight metal matrix composites. Conventionally, hard strong ceramic particles are used as reinforcement to fabricate composites (MMCs). However, poor mechanical associated interfacial de-cohesion undesirable reactions at (ceramic) particle–(metallic) interface represent major drawbacks. To overcome this limitation, metallic amorphous alloys (bulk glass) have been recently identified a promising alternative. Given influential alloys, their incorporation is expected positively influence light matrices when compared conventional reinforcement. In view this, short account existing literature based on Al- Mg-matrix containing amorphous/bulk glass (BMG) presented in review.
