摘要: Purpose To report the outcome of patients with paraganglioma temporal bone treated stereotactic radiosurgery at University Florida. Methods and Materials Between January 1997 June 1999, five were Linac-based Florida. The ages three female two male between 40 88 years (median, 49 years). Four initial presentation, one had recurrent disease. Treatment volumes ranged from 4.9 cm3 to 18.4 cm3, a mean 10.84 cm3. dose applied margin tumor varied 12.5 15 Gy Gy). treatment was specified 80% isodose shell in cases 70% cases. median follow-up time 27 months, ranging 14 50 months. Results One four previously untreated relapse primary site. failure occurred field 6 months after radiosurgery; patient subsequently fractionated radiotherapy analysis no evidence disease, 21 initiation salvage therapy. recurrence conventional local radiosurgery. At this recurrence, biopsy-proven metastatic disease cervical lymph nodes, therapy performed. All alive analysis, present. Presenting symptoms improved stabilized one. who develop worsening their symptoms. One cranial nerve V palsy treatment, which resolved few months.
