摘要: The conversion of androgens to estrogens by CYP19 (cytochrome P450AROM, aromatase) is an important step in the mechanism androgen action brain. expression has been demonstrated brain various animal species and human temporal lobe. Studies on postnatal other areas are rare carried out a limited number post mortem obtained tissue. Therefore, we investigated mRNA fresh frontal hippocampal tissues compared them neocortex tissues. We studied biopsy materials removed at neurosurgery from 45 women 54 men with epilepsy. Quantification was achieved nested competitive reverse transcription-PCR. concentrations were significantly higher (2.29±0.40 arbitrary units, AU, mean±SEM; n=57) than specimens (0.92±0.17 AU; n=18; P<0.04). In tissue (1.41±0.18 n=24) lower specimens, but difference did not reach statistical significance. Sex differences observed any regions under investigation. conclusion, expressed as well hippocampus. Regardless sex, neocortex.
