摘要: Abstract The regulation of urea synthesis from ammonia was investigated using isolated hepatocytes fasted rats. Addition alone produced only a small increase formation, which stimulated 2-fold by ornithine in conjunction with fall ATP levels and an accumulation citrulline. Further addition oleate or beta-hydroxybutyrate additional stimulation formation to approximately 200 mumol/g dry weight/hour. presence also protected against the inhibitory effect 2,4-dinitrophenol on cellular content. data suggest that both rate energy production generation reducing equivalents endogensou substrates are insufficient meet requirements for optimal rates synthesis. Urea NH3 oleate, but iin absence gluconeogenic precursors, inhibited butylmalonate, known inhibitor malate-phosphate exchange across mitochondrial membrane, theaddition malate other dicarboxylic acids amino cell suspension...
