摘要: When one searches for a target among nontargets appearing in rapid serial visual presentation (RSVP), one’s errors performance typically involve the misreporting of neighboring nontargets. Such illusory conjunctions or intrusion are distributed differently around target, depending on task stimulus variables. It is shown here that shifts error patterns can be produced by manipulation attention alone. In dual-task paradigm, magnitude and distribution changed systematically as function available attentional resources. Intrusion RSVP tasks reflect internal capacity limitations binding independent features. The present results support two-stage model processing.
