摘要: Observers often miss the 2nd of 2 visual targets (first target [T1] and second [T2]) when these are presented closely in time; attentional blink (AB). The authors hypothesized that AB occurs because response to T2 is delayed by T1 processing, causing lose a competition for attention item follows it. investigated this hypothesis determining whether attenuated precued. results from 4 experiments showed duration magnitude were substantially reduced was observed improvement report did not occur at expense report, suggesting processing already completed or least protected cue presented. conclude that, during AB, there delay between detection selection candidates consolidation short-term memory.
