摘要: Objectives : To discuss the unique terms and conditions relative to assent of children consent their parents for research participation, describe capabilities as they influence understanding willingness participate in research, issues related participation. Data Sources Research articles, review clinical experience, government policies. Conclusions The participation is complex. Developmental limitations, imbalance power between adults, and, some cases, compromised health status can research. Implications Nursing Practice Health care providers researchers must be aware need have full disclosure clear descriptions about age-appropriate language. Obtaining a child's agreement should carefully planned implemented.
