摘要: Broadly reactive neutralizing antibodies are the focus of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) type 1 vaccine design. However, only little is known about their role in acquired syndrome (AIDS) pathogenesis and factors associated with development. Here we used a multisubtype panel 23 HIV-1 variants to determine prevalence cross-reactive activity serum samples obtained approximately 35 months after seroconversion from 82 subtype B-infected participants Amsterdam Cohort Studies on HIV Infection AIDS. Of these patients, 33%, 48%, 20%, respectively, had strong, moderate, or absent serum. Viral RNA load at set point AIDS-free survival were similar for 3 patient groups. higher was significantly lower CD4(+) T cell counts before soon infection. Our findings underscore importance vaccine-elicited immunity protecting The association between humoral may provide new clues as how achieve this goal.
