摘要: Hepatitis E virus (HEV) genotype 3 is the most recently characterized hepatotropic and increasingly being recognized as cause of unexplained liver disease in many western countries. Although asymptomatic cases, HEV GT3 may be responsible for a wide range illnesses, from mild to fulminant acute hepatitis, also chronic hepatitis immunocompromised patients. Extrahepatic manifestations have been occasionally described. Anti-HEV antibody detection by immunoassays hampered moderate test accuracy particularly hosts while WHO international standard molecular RNA RT-PCR has introduced. This review describes basic virology, epidemiology, clinical virology treatment infections high income
