摘要: Thin-client computing is uniquely suitable for mobile environments, where resource-poor devices may need to access critical applications over wireless networks. In thin-client computing, run on a powerful server, which sends screen updates the client in real time. However, fast and efficient coding methods of multimedia are very challenging limited bandwidth real-time constraint. this paper, we present SPEDIC (Simple Predictor Edge Detector based Image Codec), codec continuous-tone images, appropriate computing. adopts predictive coding, edge depending characteristics image blocks, trades off between compression ratio complexity. The experimental results show that provides good with low complexity, especially achieves best end-to-end latency Compared JPEG-LS, standard lossless compression, compresses 2.5 times faster decompresses 3.2 than it does series only 6.2% inferior ratio.
