摘要: Blastocystis is a common intestinal parasite that can inhabit the tract of humans and many animals. Despite it was firstly described almost 100 years ago; subjects are still under debate about Blastocystis, including its life-cycle, pathogenic potential treatment infected individuals. Historically, local plant species have been used for therapeutic purposes by people Anatolia. Here, hexane methanol extracts two plants, Quercus infectoria (Fagaceae) Achillea millefolium, which against diarrhea in Anatolia, were examined their vitro efficacies Blastocystis. LC50 EC50 values determined Brine Shrimp Graphpad Prism 5® methods, respectively. The results showed (500 μg/ml) (198.8 concentrations extract A. millefolium lowest compared to other extracts, anti-Blastocystis activity found be comparable metronidazole no cytotoxic activity. These initial suggest may novel option infections future, if confirmed further, larger-scale studies.
