摘要: Abstract The closure mechanism of the natural mitral valve is analysed in light pressure-flow relationship across valve. It shown that closes much same way as aortic during flow deceleration under a strong adverse pressure gradient caused by ventricular contraction. vortices appear to play no significant role actual closure, though they might be contributing mid-diastolic partial closure. was demonstrated model experiments that, if pulsatility maintained, remains unaffected even absence large behind leaflets.
