摘要: Objectives In selecting a medical student for urology residency, set of preconceived criteria as to what will predict successful resident are generally applied. To determine factors an "excellent" clinical and in-service test taker, we analyzed 10 years files. Participants Study Design Retrospective chart review 29 residents at Washington University graduating from July 2000 2009. Medical applications interview evaluations were compared with future performance general surgical intern then resident, in terms examination scores. Results Of residents, based on over 4 12 "excellent," 17 "average needing improvement." "Excellent" had higher applicant rank submitted the "match" (7.2 vs. 12.1, p=0.04) better letters recommendation (3.0 2.5, 0.018). also (3.9 vs 2.7, p Conclusions Performance surgery predicts GU Resident. "Good" takers students interns continue well residents. Early identification, intervention, mentoring while still essential. Selection currently use select surprisingly predictive.
