摘要: Objective To examine the relationship between and predictive nature of United States Medical Licensing Examination ® (USMLE) Step 1, 2, American Board Surgery In-Training (ABSITE) postgraduate year (PGY) 1-5 scores from 2 general surgery programs 1999-2009, with a goal discerning how 1 should be used in resident selection screening. Design A descriptive, retrospective, correlational study was conducted using data existing program records. Setting Two accredited Midwestern community teaching hospital residency programs. Participants Data were collected records N=34 residents completing years 1999-2009. Results Although statistically significant correlation exists USMLE ABSITE PGY 3 scores, more highly correlated to all training. In both hierarchical simple regression models, superior predicting strongest predictability for 5 scores.
