摘要: Common pediatric otolaryngology inpatient procedures for the years 1977 through 1987 are analyzed utilizing data provided by National Hospital Discharge Survey (NHDS) of Center Health Statistics. The available reveal that adenotonsillar surgery remains most frequent surgical procedure performed on all children under age 15 in spite a decline both total number and rate per 100,000 population greater than two-fold over this 11 year period. myringotomies with without insertion ventilation tubes also decreased threefold during same time span. Although representative inpatient, non-institutionalized health care, NHDS suffers from its lack concerning freestanding, ambulatory facilities military hospitals.
