摘要: Petechiae, one of the classic signs asphyxia, are thought to be more frequently observed in cases hanging where part body is supporting victim's weight, ie, incomplete hanging. However, there very little evidence-based medicine support this claim. The present study intended evaluate relationship between petechiae and type (complete vs. incomplete). Furthermore, several other variables were analyzed determine if they contribute significantly presence petechiae. An 8.5-year retrospective 206 death by reviewed autopsy reports for For each case, following information was also compiled: gender age, height mass index, or suspension), ligature used (narrow wide), whether not victim had received cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers. Statistical analysis revealed that incidence higher among victims compared with complete suspension varied inversely victims. factors shown
