摘要: Purpose To determine vitamin D deficiency and associated risk factors of hypovitaminosis among Jordanian healthy infants. Design Methods A total 171 infants receiving a routine health check at Maternal Child Health Care Center were recruited. Plasma 25-OHD level was assessed using standard analysis blood sample. Other data collected included age, gender, birth order, season birth, mode feeding. Results Prevalence (≤ 15 ng/mL) 77% (132 out infants). Infants those between 1 to 6 months male, third born or later, in winter, exclusively breastfed. The multivariate model showed order be the largest contributor (R2 = 0.196), followed by breastfed (R2 = 0.071), winter (R2 = 0.037), male gender (R2 = 0.028), aged (R2 = 0.027). Conclusion Hypovitaminosis appears more common Jordan. found later breastfeed who during winter. Practice Implication child nurses have critical role play educating mothers about importance preventing through adequate sun exposure ensuring supplementation. higher dose supplementation for high-risk beyond age 1 year from developing countries should administered.
