摘要: We previously observed a peak in parathyroid hormone-related peptide (PTHrP) mRNA expression preterm rat myometrium and found that this was dependent on intrauterine occupancy. explored the possibility mechanotransduction might control PTHrP gene uterus. This done by developing an balloon system allowed us to reproduce experimentally mechanical effects of fetal pup utero. An increase unoccupied horn unilaterally pregnant could be elicited as rapidly 1 h after inflation maintained for up 72 h. The same response seen uterine horns from virgin animals reproduced three different methods imposing physical stretch. Balloon-induced stretch also increased muscle bath vitro. Mechanotransduction appears largely, if not entirely, responsible expression.
