摘要: Abstract Background and objective Eyes-closed-awake electroencephalogram (EEG) is a useful tool in the diagnosis of Alzheimer's. However, there eyes-closed-awake EEG with dominant or rare alpha rhythm. In this paper, we show that random selection epochs disregarding rhythm will lead to bias concerning EEG-based Alzheimer's Disease diagnosis. Methods We compared more than 30% less mild patients healthy elderly. classified as scenario according (8–13 Hz) percentage O1, O2 Oz channels. Accordingly, divided probands into four groups: 17 controls, 15 epochs, 12 elderly epochs. looked for group differences using one-way ANOVA tests followed by post-hoc multiple comparisons (p  Results After carrying out comparisons, both electrode configurations found significant between on beta- theta-energy (%) only scenario. No were any five frequency bands. Conclusions This first study awake-EEG reporting influence epoch selection, where our results revealed that, contrarily what was most likely expected, synchronized (rare scenario) better discriminated those presenting abundant (dominant scenario). addition, find very sensitive issue qEEG research. Consequently, studies dealing resting state EEG, propose strategies should always be cautiously designed thoroughly explained.
