摘要: Preterm birth (PTB) affects nearly 15 million infants each year. Of these PTBs, >25% are a result of inflammation or infection. Animal models have improved our understanding the mechanisms leading to PTB. Prior work has described induction intrauterine in mice with single injection lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Herein, we reproducibility and potency LPS model using two injections distal cervix. An vivo imaging system revealed more uniform distribution Evans Blue Dye double (DDI) approach compared proximal (SPI). Endotoxin concentrations vaginal lavage fluid from SPI dams were significantly higher than DDI dams. At equivalent doses, consistently induced PTB SPI, showed linear dose-response, whereas did not. Gene expression myometrial tissue increased levels inflammatory markers that received SPI. The group significant overexpression cervical remodeling genes, likely due leakage uterine horns through reliable exposure provided by this new will be useful for further studying fetal outcomes potential therapeutics prevention inflammation-induced
