摘要: The construction principles of a new heatable large volume high-pressure cell for neutron powder diffraction, the Kiel–Berlin Cell II, are presented. basic design is piston/cylinder type. designed to operate up pressures 3.5 GPa and temperatures above 800 K. First tests showed mechanical stability be ensured corresponding necessary sample load 50 tons prestress 110 tons. intended use at reactor-based sources. (1.5 cm3) allows rapid data collection. There no major geometrical restrictions in scattering plane. projected temperature could reached simultaneously application pressure. experiments revealed good signal-to-noise ratio diffracted neutrons. For present layout Ti/Zr pressure cylinders upper limit 1.2 was determined.
