摘要: Although high-resolution peripheral quantitative computed tomography (HRpQCT) and central (QCT) studies have shown bone structural differences between Chinese American (CH) white (WH) women, these techniques are not readily available in the clinical setting. The trabecular score (TBS) estimates microarchitecture from dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry spine images. We assessed TBS CH WH women investigated whether is associated with QCT HRpQCT indices. Areal mineral density (aBMD) by absorptiometry, lumbar (LS) TBS, of LS hip, radius tibia were performed 71 pre- (37 34 CH) 44 postmenopausal (21 23 women. did differ race either or In entire cohort, positively correlated volumetric (vBMD) (r = 0.664), femoral neck integral 0.651), 0.641) cortical vBMD 0.346), thickness (C/I; r 0.540) (p < 0.001 for all). also 0.643), 0.574) 0.491), C/I 0.541) at total hip combination aBMD predicted more variance measures than alone. was all indices 0.20-0.52) except radial tibial thickness. Significant associations demonstrated here suggest that may be a useful adjunct to assessing quality.
