摘要: In this paper, we report a new, simple method for the synthesis of CdS and ZnS nanoparticles (NPs) prepared in basic aqueous medium using metal xanthate as sulfur source. The structure, morphology, size distribution, optical band gap, photocatalytic properties newly obtained nanomaterials were investigated by UV-Vis spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy. results show that both crystallized cubic phase formed NPs with average sizes 7.0 4.2 nm ZnS, respectively. A blue shift absorbance higher energy gap values observed materials comparison their bulk counterparts, which is accordance quantum confinement effect. as-prepared tested visible-light driven decomposition methylene (MB). After irradiation 180 min, degradation rate MB concentration 8 × 10−6 mol/L mixed photocatalyst (CdS or 10 mg 100 mL solution MB) was found to be 72% 61%, showed better activity than could explained lower thus ability absorb light more efficiently when activated irradiation.
