摘要: The effect of circulating passive antibody on immunity to bovine rotavirus infections in neonatal calves was investigated. In the first experiment, titers small intestinal lumina 5- and 10-day-old with a wide range serum were determined. Neutralizing present that correlated calves' (r = +0.84, P less than 0.01). Immunoglobulin G1 predominant isotype luminal antibody. Calves not fed colostrum during absorptive period lacked circulation lumen at 7 days age, even when they large volumes high titer 48 h after birth. Therefore, is retained for 5 following meal, seropositive probably derived from second passively immunized by subcutaneous injection colostral whey immunoglobulin challenged virulent later. protected infection diarrhea compared comparable concentrations but lower titers. results these experiments indicate appears gastrointestinal tract can prevent challenge.
