Are fibromyalgia patients cognitively impaired? Objective and subjective neuropsychological evidence.

摘要: Objective Patients with fibromyalgia (FM) syndrome often report a cluster of cognitive disorders that strongly interferes their work and daily life, but the relationship between impaired function self-reported dysfunction remains unclear. We aimed to investigate presence impairments in patients FM analyze evaluation by through comparison group healthy controls. Methods In total, 30 controls performed neuropsychological clinical short-term, long-term, working memory; executive function; self-evaluation impairment depressive anxiety symptoms. To thoroughly function, we adopted Miyake model identifies 4 domains: shifting, inhibition, updating, access. Results Our results confirmed attention, long-term memory, shifting updating functions compared controls. These are reflected patient reports independently symptoms. Conclusion The use questionnaire practice would provide first easy screen for and, most cases, obviate need time-consuming full test battery.
