摘要: Abstract A new model of quasi-cleavage fracture toughness and the to microvoid coalescence transition is described. Quasi-cleavage occurs when stresses above a critical level encompass area ahead crack tip. The underlying mechanism stable-to-unstable growth process zone crack. High can be associated with quasi-cleavage, particularly in cases involving shallow cracks small size scales. mixed quasi-cleavage-microvoid mode strains exceed level. Coupling these material properties finite element calculations provides physical basis for predicting effects size, geometry, loading rate specified failure conditions relevant actual structures using data from subsized specimens.
