摘要: Abstract The WBN/Kob- Lepr fa rat is a new congenic strain for the allele of leptin receptor gene ( ). Homozygous / ) rats provide model non-insulin-dependent diabetes with obesity. Here, we describe characteristics this animal in detail. At 7 weeks age, both male and female obese WBN/Kob showed inflammatory cell infiltration pancreas that suggested pan-pancreatitis an abnormal OGTT. 3 months developed overt mellitus associated severe chronic pancreatitis. In contrast, lean do not develop pancreatitis or diabetes. rats, mutation might promote onset pancreatitis, leading to rapid development mellitus.
