摘要: Purpose To determine the incidence of second primary cancers (SPCs) and radiotherapy-induced SPCs (RTSPCs). Patients Methods The RTSPCs was compared among four treatment groups with locoregional prostate adenocarcinoma in 1973–2002 Surveillance, Epidemiology, End Results database. These were no radiotherapy (RT), surgery (Group 1); external beam RT (EBRT) 2); brachytherapy 3); a combination EBRT 4). age-adjusted estimates greater than (2,178 vs. 1,901 SPCs/100,000; p = 0.025) or RT, group (1,971 0.023). No significant differences RTSPC seen between groups. Conclusion initial smaller relative risk overall increased time until curves converged, suggesting that effect had resulted from patient selection bias.
