摘要: Fertility is a complex trait in beef production systems and genetic evaluation procedures, which partly due to the numerous measures used assess reproduction. Beyond cattle, fertility vary according animal species, even within they by breed, location, sex, class. of significant economic importance cattle producers, therefore should be included their breeding objective. However, traits considered indicative are general low heritability, expressed late life an animal, or both. Complicating analyses binary nature many these because truncation data from short-controlled seasons (typically 60 90 d long). Additionally, implementation prediction reproductive has previously been hampered lack total-herd reporting systems. This review evaluates historic current assessing heritabilities cattle. Successful into improvement programs dependent on whole-herd improved analysis techniques.
