摘要: The introduction of combination antiretroviral therapy (cART) has significantly decreased the severity HIV-associated neurocognitive disorder (HAND) and increased life expectancy human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) positive population. Nevertheless, patients still show persistent disorders due to associated structural functional brain changes. purpose this chapter is highlight significance neuroimaging techniques biomarkers in understanding pathophysiology related HIV infection HAND. These imaging modalities include volumetric (MRI), magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS), positron emission tomography (PET), single-photon computed (SPECT), diffusion tensor (DTI), arterial spin labeling (ASL), perfusion MRI. authors predict that with advances at molecular level, it will soon be noninvasive gold standard pathology diagnosis.
